Nintendo Switch

I wanted to challenge myself with a cleaner prop material and a few unique shapes so decided to start small with a go at a Nintendo Switch.

It has some interesting cut outs and curves that were fun to experiment with and I wanted to show a model that was relatively new and less dirty than many of my other prop works. In front of the screen a simple mesh was used with a glass material to help with reflections and some roughness variation, parts of the glass overlay can be seen in the wireframe shots over the screen. The model was split into the Joycons, the main body and the screen itself, not only allowing me to use more than one material to get the results I wanted, but also so that the model is functional as well, with detachable controllers and the ports the slip into fully modeled.

The main screen was it's own material that was a simple screen grab, I did one in light and dark mode so that they could be switched quickly.

A variation of the screen was blurred and teh hue altered to work as an emissive map that would correctly simulate the correct colour placement
